New Steam UI doesn't open anymore. Steamwebhelper not responding?
New UI worked fine for me, but now it complains about Steamwebhelper not responding when I try to open it.

Reinstalling Steam fixed it, but only while I was still on the old UI, now on the new one it happens again? Have to restart Steam with browser sandboxing disabled for it to open.

Am on windows 10 if that helps?

emmm,i have tried all the methods mentioned but it doesn‘t work for me, it seems like the problem occurs due to the lack of RAM,which is supposed to be 32GB at least

hi guys,

here is my solution how I made it working ... I had the same issue, I could not open steam and then I tried this:
1. go to "msconfig" (win + R )
2 change to "selective start up" (load services, load start up items are on)
3. go to "Services" tab
4. turn off all unnecessary/unknown services/updater (LGHUB, steam client service , Adobe Update service ... )
5. apply and restart PC

I hope it will help you too.

tried the msconfig thing, it did not work unf. did manage to stop a few annoying background programs I didn't realize were running, though, so thanks!
trying uninstalling and reinstalling steam to see if that works

update: running at the end of the reinstall caused the problem to start up immediately, constantly closing and reopening a steam window, so I guess that's... conclusive?

update2: restarting the comp and trying again seemed to make it work AND I was finally able to load a save on a game that had been crashing while trying to. Steam itself did close and reopen about 4 times before it settled, first. I'll see if anything else happens.

Found a solution for "steamwebhelper not responding" popping up endlessly when launching steam on windows 10. Uninstall steam (change steamlibrary folders to different names and save your userdata folder that has your screenshots and steamapps folders by moving them somewhere else temporarily if you want to keep them and also not have to redownload games). I also recommend deleting the C:\Users\"yourusername"\AppData\Local\Steam folder as well just to make sure you are being thorough.

After uninstalling steam, do a clean reinstall to PROGRAM FILES, do NOT install into PROGRAM FILES (x86). For some reason the february 27th, 2024 update broke my steam folder functionality in program files (x86) [which is crazy considering my steam has been in program files (x86) for over 10 years just fine. Doing a clean install into program files instead was the only solution I found, or honestly any folder that isn't the program files (x86). Not really sure why x86 would break it unless the feb 27 update changes how the software is read.

Make sure you rename the folders and move the userdata and steamapps / steamlibrary folders back to where they were so you don't have to reinstall the games. Hopefully this solution helps, it was the only thing that helped me after being locked out of my steam for 3 weeks.

Not true, I have 64GB(most of it free) and getting this issue.

That's very strange. From what I understand, Program Files (x86) is for 32-bit applications ONLY. Last time I checked Steam is still 32-bit. The regular Program Files folder(on 64-bit systems), is for 64-bit applications ONLY. Not sure if I would recommend anyone doing this and just wait for an update to this issue instead.

For me the solution was to run Steam as an administrator.

Steam shouldn't have to require admin privileges, it's just a bigger security risk for your PC, allowing software more control over your entire system including the most vital and protected parts.

Steam, as client, never ask about admin right, except first client installation.

Yes, so it also makes no sense for a user to manually run it as admin, because Steam itself never even asks for it.
