[BUG] Everlasting Maximised Window Issues
There is just something very wrong with Steam's maximised window mode. Apparently, Steam has always been running in "borderless maximised" mode before, which looked like maximised on Windows 10, but had rounded corners on Windows 11. Maybe there was some important reason for that, but I see that devs have been trying to patch this issue in the latest beta builds. And it works... questionable, to say the least. To summarise:

1) Steam still doesn't always open maximised if you left it maximised in the last session. When beta had just launched, Steam opened too big for the screen, extended for about 10 pixels in each direction. After the latest build, Steam opens and occupies 1/4 of the screen, and remains in the top left part of the screen until you resize it again.

2) In the latest update, devs wrote that they "Eliminated borders on the main window when maximized". I'm not sure what they meant by that, because I don't see any difference... There are thin light borders that still remain, and you can see them on the screenshots: https://imgur.com/1Rnm3u6 https://imgur.com/PBt8z4T

Whether they wanted to eliminate those borders or some other ones, I'm not sure, but it would be nice to get rid of those we have right now.

3) Missing animations. Truly, it doesn't only concern maximised window, but important nonetheless.

Firstly, there is no fluency/fade when Steam opens, closes or gets minimised. It just appears or disappears from the screen, as if default Windows animations are disabled. Moreover, when Steam opens, its upper and lower borders flicker white for a second. Just in case, there is no such problem in Steam's non-beta client.

Secondly, the resize feels clunky. Just as in the previous case, Steam just becomes smaller or goes fullscreen without any animations. This isn't crucial, more of a request, but if Steam devs bothered to change the minimise/maximise/close buttons "to better align with Windows styles", then why don't make it good altogether?

4) Maximised video player on Steam Store's page breaks client's maximised mode.
The most curious bug so far. If you go fullscreen on the game's video player (it can be trailer or live stream), you can notice that the video looks maximised but has rounded corners. After that, minimising the player back to normal breaks Steam's own borders. It looks the same as I wrote in 1), looking extended for about 10 pixels in each direction.

Anyway, hope devs see this and we get some results later. A lot of people would appreciate that :sans:

[21.05 Update] That's weird. I restarted PC a few times just to check Steam's behaviour, and it worked differently each time, although I always left Steam maximised before restarting.

After first restart, Steam opened maximised (without resize grips at the bottom border), and after manually restarting it opened "borderless maximised" (there were resize grips, but no rounded corners).

After second restart, it again opened smaller, occuping upper left part of the screen. Manual restart showed the same result as previously, with Steam opening "borderless maximised".

I honestly don't know what to do with this information, rather than pointing at Steam's not so predictable behaviour in the Beta build.

Bump.
Same here. At the first time, I thought Wallpaper Engine causes this bug. But It is not. Steam client doesn't remember my custom size of Steam client. Even When steam is on windowed mode, actually it is still maximized size of windowed mode.
