New notifications and wishlisted games spam
The new notifications are nice but I would like to configure what shows up in the notifications or at the very least please exclude wishlisted games. I don't want to ever get notifications about wishlisted games and this feels like an attempt to get more money out of people rather than making notifications more useful. I have hundreds of games on my wishlist so something is always on sale. Right now all 5 notification cards are wishlist notifications. It's spammy and makes the feature worthless as it's likely the notifications will always be related to wishlisted games that are on sale.

I don't see anything I can configure in the settings to exclude this other than the non-critical toggle which has no explanation of what it does or does not show. It also doesn't seem to impact the notification menu.

+1, I'd like more control over notifications. The ability to disable or filter different types of notifications would be nice.
absolute requirement otherwise im gonna start looking into hacky tricks to maintain my old steam version

If you open the notifications tab and click View All you'll be taken to an more detailed look and there's an greyed-out config button saying that it will come soon, so i think this change is probably coming

A notification filter is a must, yes. I have hundreds of games in my wishlist, so I get notifications there all the time. The previous model was much better.

Good call out. I totally missed this as I never clicked "view all" since it was just a bunch of wishlist notifications. I figured notifications would be configured from the existing notification settings menu, not a separate page. Maybe the devs have already considered this then.

Agreed, we need to be able to select what we want to be notified about.

it literally say "Coming soon" on the settings buttons of the notifications. Can you just chill on a beta that released 1 day ago instead of saying "this an attempt to get more money out of people"

I have not found any clarification on what exactly is coming soon. Until we get clarification that that particular planned settings menu addresses issues mentioned here, feedback should be provided.

A way to mark as read without having to go to notifications page would be a big gamechanger.
That being said, they should get marked as read when I simply open the notifications pane, without having to click anything.

Agreed, I buy hundreds of games a year from Steam but even I do not want notifications for Wishlist sales.

The problem with this is that you will still see "new" notifications every time Steam starts or decides to push a notification update if you have many games on your wishlist and games are constantly going on and off various sales.

Came here to post this. I can't currently find a way to disable wishilist pop-ups without disabling "non-critical notifications" altogether, which also gets rid of achievement pop-ups.
I feel that having the green bell next to your username for wishilist notifications is already sufficient.

A new settings menu was added for notifications after clicking "view all" where you're supposed to be able to disable notifications for things like wishlist sales. However when toggling off any settings an error is immediately presented saying the Steam servers are too busy and the setting wasn't saved. I've tried to disable it every day since the new UI was released and at several different times of day but have been unable to do so. Seems like the servers are fine and something isn't wired up properly to allow us to toggle these settings.
