Steam Client Webhelper plays random music

Like the title says, when i start a game, random bgm music starts. Right now its from a game called Ender Lilies. I dont even own that game. The only solution o found is to mute the Steam Client Webhelper. Restarting wont work.

It probably opened the Steam store and is playing back something from it.
There's a bug where you can get stuck with a 'phantom' (as in phantom limb) browser tab.
It doesn't actually visually exist; nor is there anything to close - but there's a page loaded and if there's something set to auto-play on that page, then it will.

You can fix it by deleting the browser data, which also deletes the persisted website URLs the overlay automatically reopens each time it launches.

As Rio said, it's a browser tab doing it, it's most likely a store page that was cycling the carousel at the top and got to a trailer.

Either this is in the main steam client and you need to move back to the library (even if the window is closed it seems to be forgetting to close the tab's resources down) or it's in the game overlay, which has also been happening a lot, a lot of people keep getting errant tabs from the store opening up in their in game overlay, so be sure to check there to close them too.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I am also having this problem. Muting the Steam Client WebHelper does make it go away... but this is a recurring issue

I was having a similar issue as soon as I launched Star Trek Online (and only that game). I found that I had the store page for Tales & Tactics open in the Steam web browser and whenever I started STO the Steam Client WebHelper was playing the two trailers from that page in the background (so I only got the audio), then cycled through the screenshots and repeated! Closing the tab in the web browser fixed it for me.

what an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nightmare this new browser has been. every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game I launch plays music in a browser page somewhere I cant see to close. As it seems, muting is the only known solution
