Disable mouse cursor completely in new big picture mode if controller is detected
Please allow us to disable mouse cursor entirely if a controller is detected, it is annoying as it keeps popping up in the middle of the screen and does not go away

It should absolutely go away when we start to use controller. And show up back again if we start using mouse.

Yes it's very annoying when it pops up dead right in the middle of the screen over and over again. It should just completely disappear when controller input is detected

This has to happen before the update comes out of beta, I'm baffled it's not

Here we are in April of the next year and valve's "devs" still can't manage this
What a time to be alive :csgogun::dssmile:

We shipped this feature several months ago. We hide the cursor on gamepad input and then show it again if you move the mouse above a threshold.

Could you please add an option to also permanently hide it and never show. That threshold thing you mentioned keeps making the cursor pop up, but I believe users should have an option to permanently hide it.

Thank you always for trying your best and listening VALVE :)

I can have my (wireless) mouse completely switched off and still somehow hit the threshold for displaying the mouse cursor, so something isn’t right with the supposed “fix”.

To add insult to injury, I can’t even slide the cursor off the side of the screen anymore because the latest beta abandons all pretence of BPM being a properly fullscreen application and show window resizing controls (that actually resize the “fullscreen” application, hilariously) that bleed into the visible area.

This definitely does not work as intended then on games like gta5 (maybe because of rockstar launcher?)

Still seems to be an issue. On steam link you can hide cursor offscreen. That function should be brought to local BPM to allow users to fix the issue from the controller.

As others reported, it's also an issue in Rockstar titles that use their launcher

We are now in the end of the year of our lord 2024, and still this issue is not fixed. Every time you press the steam button, show/hide the overlay, or open the flyout menu, the cursor shows.
No reason for this, and no excuse for leaving this broken SO LONG.
What is the 30% cut Steam takes for games sales going to? It clearly is NOT development of the client!
