New Xbox driver installation failed

Driver installation failed, is the Steam service running and up to date ?
Can any one tell me, about what Service this message mentioning ?
i'm Checked Windows services, find for one "Steam Client Service" which is on Manual mode and not running, while i'm not turn it on my self. but after turn it on, i still getting this error when trying enable Xbox Feature Driver

Probably for the best; the new driver is hilariously broken and bad. It totally breaks anything like rewasd, controller companion etc

Completely ignores disabled desktop bindings and forces you to use default.

All so steam devs could not bother testing.
Used to it after 15 years of "screw our users, leave it broken"

Mine uninstalled with the latest update, tried to reinstall got error code 9, restarted still getting error code 9.

The driver got uninstalled for me too (just noticed it as the share-button was no longer usable) and reinstalling also brought me the error code 9 .

What helped me was the following:
Opening the Windows Explorer and navigate to the following folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Steam
After that I entered the subfolder drivers and choose the subfolder specific for my Windows-version (In my case Windows 10 x64. The driver that needs to be installed is the "steamxboxndi.inf" which can be done by right clicking on the file and choosing install. After I restarted the computer afterwards and the share button is usable again.

EDIT:
If it doesn't work right out of the box you might also want to install the driver steamxbox.inf, too.

Having previously seen 6 Xbox controllers working in my game under Steam Input using the new driver, today I found that it was back to only seeing 4 at once. I had to uninstall and reinstall the driver before it worked again. I recall seeing a message recently when I installed a Steam beta update and it said something about updating the driver, which I let it do, so maybe at that point something went wrong with the installation.

it worked .... and now it no longer works. uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing for me, i can no longer bind the share button

This is the problem I've been trying to fix for the past couple of days. Trying to revert the changes so I can get reWASD working again.

hey can you send me the steamxboxndi.inf ? It fails to install and I dont have those files on my folder, only steam speakr\microphone

My Elite Series 2 controller still isn't working with this, I keep getting Xbox Driver Installation Failed, and I am not going to wipe my Windows install and reinstall all of my software just to get a controller working. Why is no one from Valve even responding to this? What is the point of doing a beta like this if there is no dialog with the testers who are experiencing bugs that make the new features completely broken?
