Dualsense Support

I have my PS5 controller working seamingly, but I do not see it showing up as a PS5 controller, infact it either things it's a generic gamepad or a PS4 controller. I am aware support just started but I wanted to make sure my controller was set up properly.

Is it supposed to say it's a PS5 controller in steam's general controller settings?

I am having a similar issue. It shows up as an Xbox One controller in controller settings. I can use it fine in the menus of big picture mode, but if I open Rocket League, only the start button does anything. And on top of that, the start button only does something if I have Xbox controller support checked.

Same. I had originally set my Dualsense to a Generic controller a few days ago but now I want to reset it so it shows up as a Dualsense controller on Steam but I can't seem to find an option to remove my existing config in Big Picture. Right now it shows it as a PS4 controller. Is this normal or should it be showing as a Dualsense?

Also Disconnect when exiting Big Picture doesn't seem to work with the Dualsense.

Im guessing they got some generic support in the mean time to emulate a Playstation 4 controller? I did set up my controller before hand and im not sure if thats the reason why it's showing up as a PS4 controller instead of PS5.

Showing as PS4 controller is correct (for now). I tested mine in 5 different games and everything worked out of the box (except the not yet supported features).

Mine is also showing as a Xbox One controller. If I check xbox support everything works except for the analogue triggers. They are just on or off so it rocket league goes from 0 - 100 when trying to accelerate

Managed to sort mine by uninstalling steam. It then showed up as 'Wireless Controller' and I was able to map the triggers to axis instead of button.

if you go into the controller config (define layout) under the general controller settings and then hit save but DON'T upload, you can change your controller type

Same issue for me. PS5 controller getting recognized as a PS4 controller with a wired connection to my steam link device. It is worth mentioning that my steam link recognizes the ps5 controller when connecting via bluetooth, but whenever I connect to my desktop from within steam link the ps5 controller is not responding, though the blue light on the PS5 controller is still on, indicating a connection to at least the steam link device.

In short: bluetooth PS5 via steam link to PC is bugged, wired connection results in a PS5 controller getting recognized as a PS4 controller
