"Hide categorized friends in Online/Offline Friends" has problems.

I miss that functionality. Please bring it back.

I relied on this feature for having all new random adds grouped together in a separate "category". Right now if I accept someones friend request they will instantly get lost among real friends until they message me (some of them never does though).

Being unable to see all these spam bots new friends at once prevents me from being able to reduce their numbers in my friends list at will when I feel like it.

Valve, please fix. Maybe make it an option

Also, animations in the friends list lose in framerate badly if I have too many categories expanded (some of which are overlapping).

Let me get you some numbers

upd:

// => 24

document.querySelectorAll('.FriendsListContent .friend.friendStatusHover').length
// => 442

It doesn't look pretty. Perhaps, you should only render those elements that are actually being visible at the moment or not animate margin-bottom, nope, still tanks fps, I guess margin bottom is not the issue

The only thing that seems to be wrong with it now is that counters next to Online and Offline categories mismatch with what's being displayed in them.

With this option enabled it still counts all your friends who's online/offline at the moment. This might be intentional and it is informative, but looks weird when category itself displays only few of them https://i.imgur.com/xBxRxkG.png

turning "Hide categorized friends in Online/Offline Friends" ON only filters Online category for me, Offline still shows all offline friends

I misread that. That option works fine for me and both, Online and Offline groups are getting reduced to people with no category assigned
