How to return old interface chat and friends? After updating the Steam Client version 1541710380 and does not work "-nochatui -nofriendsui"

It was removed from the beta a while ago. You should have expected it was going to be removed from the stable client as well at some point.

Steam doesn't care about their customer anymore. Valve just got scared about Discord selling games, and made this crap to mimic Discord. Oh irony, i'm now offline with the new chat because i totally don't like and searching for a chat replacement, so i'm going to install discord just to test it. Never needed to use discord because i only wanted to send a couple messages to my friend for play together.

Look, I don't really mind the new chat windows, But I can't handle this "sorting by game" thing. I'll disconnect from friends now until someone tells me this can be disabled and we can sort users by our own categories again, or that we can use the old chat again.

The sorting by game can be disabled in the options. Is one of the few things that was fixed.

@cSg|mc-Hotsauce How are some of us suppose to know that if we're not part of the beta? And even then, why the **** get rid of the work around if they're not gonna add options to revert? I don't care if SOME people like this change, but for **** sakes let people have some ****ing options.

That's great to hear. I'll try to use it, then.
If they just fix that every single contact takes more then 30 vertical pixels on the list, when they could use like 16, it will become almost good enough to use without feeling rage.

You can set the chat font to small, this will reduce the occupied space, but broke some of the chat elements.

The problem is not the chat window, but the contacts list.
The chat window is fine, besides some few minor problems, like not opening images in the browser if clicked anywhere that's not a corner.

Just hope they didn't make even more big. Did you see the chat options ? It takes the whole screen only for 4/5 options.
