Group Chats Disappear from Chat List/Favorites (UPDATE: 12/12/18)

Hey, just getting out an issue I've been experiencing with Steam Chat the past week-ish.

Last Tuesday (maybe Wednesday?) I signed into Steam and pulled him Friends Chat - I saw that there was the little green circle that indicates a new Chat update, so I clicked it.

Once the chat updated I lost access to ALL group chats I'm currently in, including chats I'm the owner of, or chats that belong to Community Groups that I own. They disappeared completely from my Friends list, including the Favorites list. The Group Chats section is now empty. Getting new messages, getting @'d in chat, refreshing/starting the Client, and even toggling Steam Beta won't restore access.

The only method I've been able to find to restore my access to these group chats is to have someone send me a new Chat Invite Link, which displays as "Go to Chat" instead of asking me to join. Clicking this will add the group back to my Chat list and I can access it normally. However, this resets everytime I need to log-in or there is an update.

No one else I know on Steam has been experiencing this issue, so I figured I'd post about it here to see if anyone might know something, or at the very least for documentation purposes.

Update:

It looks like Group Chats are automatically deleting from my favorites and the chat list after my machine goes into sleep mode for a long period of time. Not really sure how/why.

Dude no need to flip out. I actually quite enjoy the new Chat UI, myself. I think, for the most part, it is very functional and easy to use. Though, I expect some bugs and issues to crop up, such as this.

I actually have the same problem. After i clicked "watch with friends" in steam.tv and selected a group no group chats are showing in my friends list.
If I login through my browser or on a different pc everything is working fine tho..

I tried reinstalling steam, but that didn't fix anything..

Edit:
As a workaround you can add the groups you want to use to the favourites section of the friends list i suppose. Works well enough for me.

Good suggestion, but that doesn't actually seem to work for me.

Any new login session across any computer just removes these chats entirely.

My current workaround is to just leave an non-expiring group chat inv link and using that whenever I need to log into Steam.
