Inactive chat tabs don't show game status
After today's chat UI update, it's no longer possible to see the games your friends are playing in chat tab title, unless you actually chat with said friend (have their tab active).
Previously it was written under their nickname.

This seems like deliberate change, however there doesn't seem to be any reason for it, as it is bad (in my opinion of course) UX design, as now you have to click through every friend's tab to see what the heck are they playing and of course they can change the game meanwhile.

Also they no longer seem to be showing the current status of the person you're talking to (Online, Away, Away Zzz). I liked that feature, now I have no idea if I'm talking to an empty chair or a person.

They also increased the minimum vertical window size, so I've lost even more screenspace.
Really odd they've stopped showing status tags given the tab header is actually bigger than before this change.

The gradient background for the chat window header is also gone, so it's even harder to see where one window ends and the next begins when several are open individually side by side.

Personally I'm still waiting for the ability to have my chats remember which monitor they're on and if they should be infront or behind other windows - for over a year now It's been randomly picking every startup and every couple of days when left open overnight (Along with my friends list closing itself occasionally).

Under the pre-revamped chat, I could leave it on overnight and know that it'd be where I left it in the morning (along with a record of if steam disconnected, if any messages I got were sent while someone was ingame or not, the time someone went away/snooze, short messages only taking up a single line, etc)

For comparison of away status etc, old chat, new chat back in beta, latest update to new chat:

As a bonus, here's steam green chat from ~2007 back when there was only one X button that'd close a chat window:

Interesting how things like the scrollbar, the borders and the status color around the person's icon get smaller with each iteration while the amount of space a single line chat message takes up gets bigger.

+1 I agree. I want to be informed which games my friends play in chat tab title.

The chat seems to be broken in other ways too. Even the compact mode isn't working well.

Oh... my god. Everything is clear now.

Valve develpers broke the chat for add a new, stupid and useless feature ! I don't know what to think anymore.

+1 Friend status really should be displayed.

Actually, didn't notice before - the small icon "new messages" doesn't have a number of unread messages right now. I know, people usually check it regardless, but when you have several people writing to you and one friend tab has 1 unread message and couple of others 5+, I'd like to prioritize who to read first based on the message count.
