Friends tab and steam chat doesnt working

When the client starts, the friends and chat buttons do not work. Instead, they open a black window. How to fix it?

Guessing you are on Windows 8 or 8.1? There was an issue with the prior beta update from 8/13 specifically on those OS versions. If you check for updates and get the update from yesterday afternoon it is resolved.

OS - Windows 10 Pro, Version 1803.
And i reinstalled my steam-client.

Can you check if you have some crash dumps in this folder on your machine? Replace jmccaskey with your windows username:

C:\Users\jmccaskey\AppData\Local\CEF\User Data\Crashpad\reports

If you do, it would be great if you could send them. These are from steamwebhelper.exe crashing.

Would also like to get you to try running Steam with -opendevtools on the command line (right click properties on the shortcut for Steam. A window that looks like Chrome dev tools will popup, and please copy and paste the contents to me.

I dont have any crash dumps in my report folder.
With dev tools i've got some problem... In which tab i should copy information and how i can do it? Copy-paste in first tab "Elements" dont wanna working.

Can you try going into Steam -> Settings, under Web Browser "DELETE WEB BROWSER CACHE"? It seems like the CSS file you are trying to load is corrupted somehow and failing and causing the page load to fail. Maybe this is your local disk cache getting corrupted somehow.

Can you help me to find "DELETE WEB BROWSER CACHE"? I saw only "Delete my Steam account" button.

From the main Steam library window, click the Steam menu, click Settings, on the left pane in the settings dialog find "Web Browser". Click that, then on that page there is a button "DELETE WEB BROWSER CACHE". Hit the button and confirm deleting.

Thanks... do you have anything like ccleaner installed that tries to regularly clean up browser caches? I would like to figure out how your cache may have gotten corrupted, as obviously this shouldn't happen.

Nope, i dont have something like ccleaner and i do not clean my caches usually.

My steam friends chat isnt working at all. All of a sudden. Group chats, friend chats. None of it. Windows 10 here. Never had this problem before.
