How to add roles?

Group Chat Permissions

• Added role hierarchy: Each roles is listed in hierarchical order and can be re-ordered using arrows to the right of the role. 'Owner' and 'Everyone' roles cannot be re-ordered.
  
• Added 'Edit Roles' and 'Assign Roles' as permissions.
  
• Members with these new permissions can only edit and assign roles below their current role in the role hierarchy.

How can I Edit Roles or Assign Roles?

I believe it can be done through the admin tools on the Group's webpage, I can't seem to find an option directly from chat.

I can't find anything about roles in the admin tools besides Admin and Moderator roles.

Okay. Let's say you have a group.
Go to the group chat, on the right side you can see a setting icon encased in sort of a conversation thing, click that.

That opens up a menu, now click "Permissions" on the left side.
There you can add roles and edit permissions.

My left side only has "General", "Channels", "Invite links", "Invited Accounts" and "Bans".

If you are not the owner, make sure the owner has set your role to be able to edit and assign roles.
If you are the owner, this is a bug to be reported. (You might also want to switch to default steam skin if you are using any, or restart steam/ create another group to see if it works)

I'm the owner of my own group and do not have these options directly from chat.

I'm guessing I'm affected by a similar bug? is there anything I could be missing?

I notice that you are "Offline for 2 hours", I suppose it's related to the log in issues (like the one you can't send pictures for you are "not logged in"). Not sure if it's going to work, you might want to go to your steam client's community page, click sign in.

Oh no, I was just invisible, that panel in the group chat remains the same regardless.

Maybe get out of invisibilty? (This is beta where all kinds of bugs could happen so we just gotta try, I guess) If that doesn't help, this is a bug for sure and there's nothing I could do from here.

Yeah, being online or invisible doesn't seem to effect it any other way, thanks for attempting to help!

I guess I'll contact support in the meantime, wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else I was doing to cause additional issues before then.
