Steam chat causing fps drops
Hey! New features are great and chat is awesome to use.
I'm having an issue, at least specifically with rocket league, that when steam chat is open in the overlay (even when hidden) I get bad frame drops. I have to manually close the chat after each message if im chatting while playing.

This seems to be happening to me too, only in CS:GO. Is this a beta only thing it seems?

Disable hardware acceleration on steam settings

Disable Arx Control and Discord applet (that is NOT Discord client) if you have a logitech mouse (or keyboard) and with logitech software installed


try also to close it

yes fps drops from chatt in csgo, cs1.6 works fine ;)
I play on invisible so random invites / chatts can be neglected
*Will not buy new hardware so steam and csgo can continue whit bad programming

Also disable overlays from apps like xbox,nvidia etc they suck fps aswell
