Remove group chat option

Nobody usses group chats and its annoying to see it and take place

At least have a way to hide it from your friends list. As it is, it takes up a lot of space on what used to be a small window.

I agree. It's just there, wasting valuable space. I also dislike the fact that in-game friends are always at the top. I'd rather have options to sort everything myself.

Group Chat / Games

It would be nice to have a toggle in settings to have the bottom part of the chat window disabled.
There are some people out there that do use it but I have received feedback from friends and collegues that they found the group chat window annoying.

I personally do not really care for the top part that it shows the friends in games as it splits up and creates new windows at the top, perhaps make it so all games get filtered into 1 dropdown, when you have that unfold that it shows all the games, or have it in a seperate tab at the top like they had with groups and friends in the main steam version.

I would also like an option to minimize the group chat window in the friends list. Either turn it into a miniature icon for easy access or add an option to remove it entirely until you are invited into one.

The collapsable Group Chats pannel would be good, and if it's got implemented I hope the height is reduced on "Minimized" state, so it doesn't take so much place

I agree with you but I feel that the option should be there to enable or disable it as for example I don't want group chats to be there as I never use them but other players do. So I think an enable or disable option should be included, but I do like the new look to Steam, it's very nice.

Minimize Friends or Group chat

should be a drop down menu so the user can customize what's more important to them, while resizeing is nice, a plain minimize for Group Chats would clean up the UI a bit more.
