Remove what's new and recent friend activity from Library

Please remove the (ads) "whats new" or give a deselect box, I have a store for that stuff and don't need it in my library. Also remove or add a deselect box for recent friend activity. I have a chat/ message window for that. its hard enough to find my games in beta version without all the extra clutter. I am giving the beta version a good try, but the new sections added are just clutter and not value adding for me.

Thank you for all the extra work you put in to the Steam Client. it truly is appreciated even if we complain often. :)

yea, agree with "recent friend activity" being toggle off/on. I don't personally care for it, and it takes up ~40% of the library page. Quite annoying.

I actually like the What's New because now because I tend to see my Library page as the centre of the Universe, so it's a good place to put that info, but I agree that Recent Friend Activity should go. It's completely useless.

If you talking about the home section then it should be more customizable along with the game pages (the community content being displayed on it just takes up too much room)

Any targeted advertising really annoys me, I wish they would let people opt out, but unfortunately the marketing geniuses just won't let us. They are convinced it sells more games but fail to see the fact that ANY advertising, no matter how veiled, annoys some people.

Just came here to ask the very same thing, I want the library to view my games, not have store style updates and other totally unwanted junk anywhere on the library.

Please, please give an option to turn this damn thing off.
