Now the feature has been deleted, they ignored all requests for it in beta as people endlessly begged them not to delete it, and now they've force-deleted it for all users.
I guess the effective forced ads in What's New can't even be disabled. This is the future.
NEGATIVE FEEDBACK!!
To monetize the time you spend looking at your game launcher by pasting adverts over every free pixel of it.
Welcome to Software as a Service! It's adverts or subscription fees now, take your pick. Increasingly, it's both.
I'm bailing on Windows once 7 becomes unusably insecure after end of support, since Wine (and, ironically, Valve's port of it) are good enough now to run most games I want to play (still have my free Win10 update install keyed to my hardware sitting on a spare HDD somewhere if I REALLY need it), and I'll likely bail on Steam as well if they follow the industry trend. For me, it's only a DRM client and launcher, so I lose literally nothing by playing with my toys in a different sandbox.
PLEASE GIVE US THE OPTION CHANGE BACK TO THE OLD UI.
how can something like this happen?
It's a platform for games. Why would you want to spoil people's enjoyment of the game? Many people have invested thousands of Euros in Steam. Never thought that this could have disadvantages.
Convert YOUR Shop as much as you want, but leave OUR collection alone! Then we can decide to buy somewhere else, but how can we export our games from steam?
Imagine yourself: You buy a game in the shop, sort it at home into your collection (It looks awsome. You love your collection. And you love the shop.) and the next time you wake up, it talks to you and want a lot of things from you.
But what you want to see hides it from you. And all the borrowed games you might want to attract to decide if you should buy them are suddenly in your own collection. Imagine the disappointment when someone wants his games back!
We all bought from Steam because it was the way it was. Please give us at least the opportunity to change it ourselves. You are good at selling: Sell us the new design, dont force use.
P.S. Do you think we gamble with tablets and touchscreens? This would explain your desicion, but you are wrong.
