Filter activity by specific friend(s)?

At the moment the activity feed lets you switch between 'friend activity' and 'my activity'. Would it be possible to have a view for a specific friend, or set of friends?

My activity feed has been a bit of an eyesore for a while now as my friend count increased, but now that favourites show up it's almost unbearable.

There are still many friends whose favourites and screenshots I'm interested in following, but there's just as many who I'm not interested in. I like these people, so I don't want to delete or block them, but it makes wading through my activity feed each day a chore when it was something I used to enjoy.

so you want more specific filters, that filter by each friend of everything screenshots, recommendations etc. a helpful hide this option on each post by anyone wuld be good too.

but what if you want to filter ei. screenshots from one friend and not others?

check facebook options for examples.

one example i like is steam acitvity feed needs to be partly treated as yes a social experiance of sharing. but also as a blog, option to put in a limiter counter that the user sets themselves say if they to moderate their posting by force, like post once every 6 hours.

filters and ignore options like on facebook are not something i want to do to limit what i see from this person, hate that view but yes that person is annoying but ultimately this is the space of PC gaming, you get the wierd, ugly but ultimately wonderful but its up too you what you want to do about it.

Sorry to bump up an old thread, but I went searching for some granular friend activity options and couldn't find them. There's certain friends whose screenshots I want to filter out (since they aren't liberal enough with spoiler tags), and others I want to keep up with. Same with reviews and certain other bits of content.

It would be nice to be able to choose whose reviews, screenshots, artwork, Workshop items, etc. I can see on a per-friend basis, rather than just enabling or disabling an entire category for my whole friends list.

There is a Chrome extension[chrome.google.com] that does some of this stuff. It would be sweet to see a more robust version within the Steam client itself.
