Friend Requests not getting through...

I'm having a very frustrating problem which causes me to not be able to add friends. I can click on "Add Friend", and Steam will tell me the friend invite has been sent. But the person I add as friend never receives the invite!

It's really frustrating!

Did you possibly hit too many friends?

When did this start occuring (do you know what build?)?

have you found any work around?

Does this happen on Profile pages or through some other method of adding friends?

It tends to vary. One of the ways that does always seem to work though is adding people through Steam in-game.

And I only have around 80 friends, so no. I didn't hit the limit.

I know exactly how you feel. It's been so long, and yet there's this ONE person who I can't add. He never blocked me because we know each other, just had to re-add each other. Long story.

same damn thing here. I have one friend who just all the sudden disappeared off each others friends lists and we can't add each other back.

for me when someone adds me it doesnt show up that i have a request on my friend list, i have to go steamcommunity.com only can see if i have any requests from there... anyone same problem? a few days ago it was fine but suddenly its like this :/ my friend list is far from full! :( if anyone knows a solution to this please let me know. thanks!

I have bought Portal 2 for both of my sons - it is installed and have tried "invite" to each of them as friends - never getting the invitations.. very frustrating. is there any official support?

I know this is an old discussion, but this is happening to me as well. I've tried adding a few people recently and I check to see if they've accepted the add, but they haven't and they've been online/in-game for several days and still haven't accepted the add. Did a recent update cause an issue with people receiving friend requests?
