Option to disable group invites

I've been getting way too many random group invites lately, and would really like it if there was a way to disable them, or even limit it to friends only. I'm getting tired of being randomly invited by somebody that I don't know and have no common groups/friends with, to a group with 100k+ members.

Same, I would also like an option to turn off event announcment spam from groups i'm in on an individual basis. Some groups I like being in for there community, I just don't like recieving 500+ announcments every day. But totally a way to not allow persons you share nothing in common with from spamming invites.

This. I can't stand having pop-ups in the corner of my screen when playing a game, and the majority of them are group announcements. It would be fantastic to have such stuff disabled, or could be turned on for specific groups.

So go into stteam settings and untick the notification boxes? Or don't be in loads of groups you have no interest in?

I've already done that ages ago for anything possible, but group announcements isn't an option. Also, it's not that I have no interest in the groups, just I don't care about their side activities. I'm not going to leave a group because of that, unless they really spammed announcements bad, like every minute. I'd prefer an option to turn off announcements for such groups, though.

The best way to resolve it is: leave all of the group you have joined or atleast stay in 2-8

The problem is in group invites. No matter what groups I'm in and what my settings are, every time I start Steam — those popups burst out 3 after another 3 after another 3 and so on while I can't even click on my system tray because of them. I would just like an option to hide group invite notifications or, if that's not possible, automatically ignore any.

The Feb 1 2017 beta update seems to have fixed at least part of the problem. Under Settings/Friends/Notifications & Sounds, you now have a couple of new checkboxes: "For Group events and announcements: [X] Display a notification [_] Play a sound". Doesn't mention invites, though.
