FPS counter hotkey please.
I'd like to have an option to enable a hotkey to disable/enable the FPS counter instead of having to go through the UI. It would make things much more convenient.

I thought there already was one? if there is, i dont know how to access it.
but if there isn't, it'd be convenient having a fraps style FPS counter where you could adjust where it sits like all steam notifications. maybe something similiar to net_graph but with less bulk?

I'd also love a hotkey. It would be great if like FRAPS, a hotkey could move the corner around, or at minimum just toggle it on/off. There's even another configurable hotkey on the same Steam options screen so it would make sense.

It's a little worse than I realized -- even if you change the Steam option while a game is running, the FPS counter will not go away or reappear until you restart the game. So you literally CANNOT toggle the FPS counter on and off midgame as far as I can tell.

A hotkey would be really nice.

Yay someone found my old thread! :P I still don't use the Steam overlay FPS counter partly because I can't toggle it midgame.

It's still maybe the main reason why I don't use the Steam FPS counter and use Fraps instead. :(

Well, if you toggle it off, then you aren't using it, are you? :D

No one just leaves the FPS counter going while playing their games. They turn it on just to check on things!

Exactly. I turn it on to check a certain section of a game, and then want to turn it back off without restarting the entire game.

+1 for a hotkey to toggle on/off

I've personally just started using Nvidia GFE's own framerate counter that you can find under Shadowplay -settings.

That presuming you have an Nvidia GPU that's 6xx, 7xx, 9xx or 10xx series.
