Steam Mobile Auntenthicator sending a wrong SMS code !!!
Lately iv'e been trying to add the mobile steam guard, i did everything correct but when it sends the SMS code to confirm that i want to activate it, it says that the code is incorrect ! It ALWAYS says that it's incorrect. I can't fix it and i really really really need to enable it. Please !!

Thanks Vozone. Your solution fixes this "bug" they won't talk about. If only Steam were bright enough to say/do something about it... long-time customers wouldn't be ripping their hair out.

Sucks for my family, as we like to have our phones a few minutes fast.

Sir, ive tried what u said and still it send wrong sms. and i cannot click on the "Verify Button" on the link u rovided. How? when i point the cursor on the button it says "you just have recently verified ur phone no. as a result you cannot verify again this time" but i have not been able to verify it cause it always sends the wrong sms.. pls help

As Vozone said earlier in this thread, try checking your phone's time and timezone are both set correctly.

Set the time fetching to be automatic, then reboot your phone.

The authenticator user your phone's time in order to generate the codes. If the time is off on your phone, then the app will generate the wrong code and it wont work.

Check that your phone time is properly synced, then try a new code.

the first link helped me i deleted my phone and re-did it all on the browser :D
turns out my phone's time was out by daylight savings rip
This also happens to me, can anyone please help me? I want to remove my old number to a new number and it always say Bad SMS code please try again later.

Ensure your phone's time, date and timezone are correct, are set to update automatically and try to restart your phone.

If you're trying to remove the phone number on your phone's browser, that should be all there's to it. If you're trying to do it on your computer, ensure the former rules apply to your PC too.

You can re-synchronize your PC's time by opening services.msc, activating Windows Time
Opening up cmd.exe with elevated priviledges and typing in w32tm /resync

Because my post is from 2015 and is under a completely different context. Mine referred to the authenticator's registration process.

          1. Remove my phone number
          2. I no longer have access to my Mobile Authenticator
