make 2 usb: linux live and W1022H2
place latest whql drivers here, +
dl oosu, privazer, defraggler, and basic soft like media player, archiver, file manager, all vc++ from 2005 to 2023 x86+x64, dx9 offline, etc.
boot with linux live, export important data to external disk, disconnect it and erase all disks in laptop with dd or shred
install W10 in offline mod, setup it with console commands and oosu, install all vc++ dx9 dotnets
uninstall UWP crapware (console or ooapb)
connect to internet and update OS
reboot few times,
then use privazer to cleanup, reboot with Shift into safe mode(F4) and do full defragmentation
reboot in normal mode and shrink os partition to max possible size(to compact $MFT) and un-shrink to normal state (compression of NTFS must be disabled BEFORE)
now you ready for use your laptop in normal way
CCleaner is snake oil, adware, spyware and crapware (and some versions are simple trojans)
you can use old versions with ccenhancer if you smart enough, but i recommend avoid it (as privazer in advanced mode, it tools for poople who know what they do)
(although as a means of keeping the brain in good shape, Linux is a very good cure for dullness)
people complain about ♥♥♥♥ on these forums all the time, but that doesn't mean the vast majority of Steam users have such problems. especially considering the fact that Steam has tens of millions of users but only a small % of them use the forums, and an even smaller % of those actively use it
yeah i'm going with Linux Mint on my next PC, but for now i'll sadly have to stick with Windows because of proprietary BS
Don't bother asking anyone...
All you'll get as a response is that a bunch of toxic
people will tell you what to do, & deliberately try to
convince you to make the wrong decision...
Just make the decision yourself, o_@
1.) Everyone knows that Linux is the future,
it's the easy way out of our Windows problems right now...
-- Anti-Privacy Theft (Most Secure OS)
-- Browsing Internet Feels Genually Nicer
-- You Get Auto-Updates, But You Get Choices On Installing Which Ones You Want To Install, & Which Ones You Don't Want To Install, Unlike Windows 8 & Above...
-- Linux Is Actually Genually Liked By Actual People, Unlike Windows 8 & Above...
-- Linux Is Not (Spreading Anti-Freedom), Unlike Windows 8 & Above Is...
Everyone Knows That Linux Is The Future...
There are only 3 Reasons People Refuse To Migrate To Linux...
A.) Because People Refuse To Allow Linux To Be The Present, The Current...
It Might Be The Future, But It Certainly Isn't Gonna Be Right Now...
B.) One Reason, Is Because People Just Genually Don't Like
Being Forcefully Pushed To Join Something, Even If They Aren't
Hating That Something... There Is Only Three Operating Systems
In The World For America; "Apple MAC OS, Microsoft Windows, & Unix Linux",
Cutting 1 Of Those 3 OS Out, Clearly Shows A Shift, & A Problem On The
World, & It Tightens, & Causes A Conflict Between People Over Having A
Computer In Their House, A Desktop Computer...
The Force To Move To Linux, Or Force To Move To Windows 11,
Is All More The More Reason For Us To Refuse To Actually Move,
It's About Choice, It's About Freedom, & It's Always Been About That...
C.) The Other Reason, Is This??
All The Reasons Your Being Told To Move To Windows 11,
Or Move To Linux, & All The Reasons Your Contemplating Actually Moving??
Won't Change Anything...
STEAM Is Still Gonna Be A Massive Problem On Linux,
Your Still Gonna Get Anti-Freedom On STEAM, Your
Still Gonna Have Problems With Gaming Industry Standards,
Your Still Gonna Have Issues With Digital Media, & Streaming
Of Movies...
The Only Difference Is Now? The OS Your Moving To,
Isn't An OS Your Wanting To Be On, & That OS Won't
Feel Like Home Anymore, Windows 11 Is A Gut Disgusting
Platform, & Your Injecting Yourself Into It... While Linux
Is Nothing Like Windows At All, But Still Functions Like
A Computer, Just As Windows Does...
Soooo Your Just Adding More Problems,
But Not Solving Any Of The Previous Before...
Then There Is The Fact That?
These OS Aren't Anything Like What Your Framilure With,
Sooo You Gotta Relearn How To Actually Use Them,
Because They Are Way Different Now, ~_~
The Crazy Part Is?? After All Said & Done,
People Just Genually Don't Want To Leave The
OS They Are On, Cause It's Just Personal
Preference, Personal Choice, & They Just
Genually Just Don't Like People Telling Them
What To Do...
So At The End Of The Day, They Choose To
Stay On Their OS, & Above All, They Know
It's Better, & The Better OS All Around To Start With...
Windows 7 & Windows 10 Will Both Stop Being Supported
By Microsoft Between Now & Next Year, & No Later...
Microsoft Is Already Infecting Windows 10
With Reasons For People To Have Problems, & Concerns...
Such As Adding Co-Pilot & AI To Windows 10...
Microsoft Is Really, Really Trying Very Hard To
Get People To Move Onto Windows 11, They
Really, Just Won't Quit Until People Upgrade...
& I'm Still Refusing To Upgrade...
& The Question Is??
Why Are They Sooo Desperate To Get People To Upgrade? o_@
--------------------------------------------------------------------
As For You??
Windows 10 Or Windows 11??
My gaming laptop has been giving me issues since like an entire year now, and partially it's due to Windows 10 being corrupted and partially due to aging hardware.
Windows 10 as I said above?? Microsoft is desperate to get People
to Upgrade to Windows 11, so they are adding things from Windows 11
to Windows 10, trying to push People out of Windows 10...
Possibly, a corruption of Windows 10?? Had something to do
with this case mentioned above, that Microsoft wants People
out of the Windows 10 ECO System...
Aging Hardware???
How bad is it Aging? My Computer is possibly in the same shape,
mine is technically from possibly 15 Generations ago, Mine stopped
recieving Updates for it's own Hardware back in 2013 or 2014, but
My Computer still has 2017 or 2019 Early Year Drivers for Graphix,
& Graphix GPU Software, As Well As
Custom 8K Res Pro Vulkan SDK Software / Drivers,
Which You Can't Even Get Online Anymore, Because
The Vulkan API Website Was Shut Down, Which Is Odd,
Because Linux Being The Future That People Are Pushing For,
Actually Supports & Does Use Vulkan Very Well On The Platform,
Which Is Why The Website For The Vulkan API Is Very Oddly Missing,
Which Sadly, I Don't Have The Linux Version, Only The Windows Version Of It...
What Has Worked For Me, Though??
When I Had Windows 10 Offline, I Was Able To Get Like 300 FPS
In Video Games Like Ultra Street Fighter IV & Rocket League,
Other Games Are At 60 FPS & 30 FPS Locked...
Even On Hardware As Dated As Mine... I Was Able To Handle This...
My gaming laptop has been giving me issues??
Another thing to note here, is this is a Laptop,
It's a Gaming One, but it's Still A Laptop...
This can be another factor of your Computer Aging issue...
However, switching to Windows 11 means I keep the third party programs and most bloatware with 10 is gone...at the cost of some stuff breaking due to being on a new OS.
This Is False...
You Are Right That Keep 3rd Party Programs, & Most Bloatware Is Gone...
But Where That Bloatware Is Gone, You Get A Whole New Set Of Bloatware
To Follow, Only Making Things Worst On You... As For Stuff Breaking Due To
New OS? You Are Right, Windows 11, Isn't Just That, It's Also A Bit Glitchy, Too...
Sometimes The Right Menu On The Mouse, Or Closing Windows Out,
Don't Even Work, Nor Function At All, No Matter How Many Times
You Try Clicking... There Are Some Other Stuff That Are Issues, As Well...
Overall, It Seems Problems Like This Seem To Verry Between Person To Person...
One Laptop Might Have A Completely Different Setup,
& A Whole Different Experience From Another Laptop,
While The Same Could Be Said The Other Way Around
Based On The Windows 11 Weird Experiences, Desktop
Settings, & Configs, & Such...
There Is Always The Keeping Of Files Including The Bloatware On Windows 10,
As I Said The Windows 11 Comes With It's Own Case Of Enjoyable Bloatware
That Is Not Found On Windows 10, o_@
I also wanna wait for newer tech to come out before upgrading, such as GDDR7 GPUs and DDR6 SDRAM.
The New Hardware & Tech Coming Out??
Aint Gonna Be In Any Better Shape Then Windows 11...
I Just Recently Tried To Buy A New Monitor,
Every Store I Tried To Buy From Was Selling
Refurbished Monitors Only For $100 Range
At 1080P... & Ones That Actually Worked,
Didn't Even Come With Any Sound...
I Just So Happened To Get Lucky With A
$110 Acer 24 Inch Screen With 1080P HDR,
HMDI 2.0, Sharpness, 165 Hz, & A Whole Lot
Of Other Settings, With Brand New Chips
Inside The Monitor, Due To Recertified, & It
Looks Fantasticly Large On Screen For Only
24 Inch, Backlight, too & Games Look
Fantastic On It, I Just Wish I Had Actual Sound
With It, Though, But $110 Aint That Bad For All This...
I think maybe me using CCleaner to remove a lot of registry stuff may have also contributed to my computer??
Well, Ummmm?? Ya, That Could Be Your Issue, As Well...
Soooo Anyways??
What Have You Decided??
Windows 10 Or Windows 11??
Even Windows 10 had Updates where the System
got things Ironed out, & fixed, & altered, & done better??
So Windows 11 could always go this route, too??
But at the End of the Day, Windows 10
was still not likeable even after these Updates
to fix many things came into existance...
And With Windows 11?? This Trend Of
Not Liking The Operating System Isn't
Gonna Get Any Better...
Then There Is The Fact That Windows 10 Had Later
Updates That Started Bringing Back Problems Again,
& Then Recently Windows 11 Features Coming To
Windows 10??
And That Can Always Be A Windows 11 Issue, As Well,
Where More Problems Come To The System, But
Many Just Aren't Fixed, When You Complain About Them...
I Don't Know, I Just Know Some Bugs, & Problems
With Windows 11, Still haven't Been Fixed Since
Early Windows 11 Release, & That Is If You Even
Want To Be On It At All, Which Many People Don't...
Good Luck!!!
Choosing Windows 10 Or Windows 11??
and like i told everyone else, i'll go to Linux for a future PC because i'll make sure to avoid proprietary features for a desktop
yes i already know to expect new bloat; also Windows 7 was discontinued in 2020; that's your fault for buying from stores, as i buy everything tech online
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
you're forgetting or ignoring that Windows 10 will stop receiving security updates in October 2025, and I believe October 2022 or 2023 was the last time that Microsoft released a feature update for 10
my parents and sister updated to Windows 11 on their laptops that officially aren't compatible, but they get much better performance and less bloat
only some 11 stuff came to 10 (DirectStorage and Co-Pilot) but very watered down
They post like that on purpose to be annoying and get banned, just ignore and/or report it.
Everyone Acts Like Windows 7 Was Discontinued & Thought
That This Is A Bad Thing??
Honestly, I Think It's A Good Thing... It Means That Microsoft
Is No Longer Invested Into The ECO System, & If They Aren't
Invested In It, Then It Means They Aren't Gonna Ruin It, &
If They Aren't Gonna Ruin It? Then To Me, That Is A Great
Opportunity For Us To Move Back To Windows 7, & Support
It Again... I Can Do Things With Windows 7 That I Don't
Need New Computers With... I Can Have Lots Of Fun With It...
No Viral Protection? Not A Problem...
It's Like An Open Jungle To Explore,
Lots Of Dangers, But Also Rewards...
But they get much better performance and less bloat?
It's Not That People Think Windows 11 has problems, or Bloat...
People Don't Like It, Because It's About Control & Force...
Windows 11 Is Exactly Like Windows 10,
But Backwards...
Windows 10 - Computer 1st & Mobile Second
Windows 11 - Mobile 1st & Computer Second
Only Reason No One Gave A Fuss About Windows 10,
Is That It Offers 8K Resolution, But Windows 11 Doesn't
Give Anything We Don't Already Have, & That Is Exactly
Why People Fuss About Windows 11, But Not Windows 10...
But, The Problems With Windows 10, Microsoft Did Not
Learn From When Constructing Widnows 11, & Some
People Knew That They Believe Microsoft Is Moving
Twards A More 100% Mobile Economy Soon, & With The
Whole Step Of Windows 11?? Some People Are Actually
Taking A Step Back, Going To WinXP / Win7 To Fight
This Movement, Because They Ultimately Hate Mobile,
& It's Been One Of The Many Problems Of Windows 10...
Windows 11 Also Produces Many Problems, It's Also Bloated
With Many Things People Don't Give A Crap About, Many
Of Which Aren't In Windows 10, & Some That Are, But Win11
Has It's Own Problems Of Bloat...
Here Is The Thing Though??
It's Not All About Can I Run It,
Is It Stable, Not All Of This Is?
Some Of It Is Just Design Choice People Just Don't Like About It...
Windows 11 Also Eliminates Some Files
People Used To Work With On Older Windows,
& Now They Can't, Not Free Anyhow Anymore,
Which Is A Major Draw Back, Ya Download A
Replacement, But People Rather Not Randomly
Download Un-Secure & Un-Safe Products Online...
Then There Is Linux??
The Issue With Linux Is??
-- It's Very Different From Windows
-- It's Got It's Own Desktop & Hardware Related Issues
-- It Doesn't Support A Lot Of Software People Like Using
-- There Aren't Really Any Replacesments Of Software
-- Some People Don't Like Being Pressured Into Linux From Windows
-- Not Everyone Will Understand Linux Updates & What THey Do
Mostly, People Just Don't Like The Pressure Of Being
Driven To Switch From Windows To Linux...
But If You Want To Use Linux??
It's Great For Privacy Concerns & It's Great On The Web,
It Runs YouTube Quite Well, & It's Not A Pressure On
Auto Updating Linux Like We Do On Windows 10 / 11...
Soooo?? Linux Isn't Bad, But Outside Of That??
I Wasn't Able To Find Much Activity I Was Fully
Invested In Wanting Linux For...
Linux Came Off As If I Was Leaving The Future,
& Going Back Like 30 Years In Tech, That Is What
It Felt Like... I Also Felt Very Bored On Linux, Too...
But Like I Said, Linux Isn't Bad, & It's A Way Better
Option Then Windows 11, I Just Wouldn't Install
STEAM Onto Linux, Because Any Windows STEAM
Issues, Might Transfer To Linux, Just Saying, &
Linux Runs Great By It's Self, So Why Let STEAM Ruin It...??
Also, Everyone Knows Linux Is The Future,
Some People Just Don't Want It Being
The Present, & The Current Right Now...
It's Not About Money, Nor Requiring It
For Windows 11, & Linux??
It's About Choice, & The Word "NO"...
Well, you could try W11 I personally has a device that came with it pre-installed no issues so far, avoid debloating the OS (this is something that requires advanced knowledge or else you'll end up with many corrupted/broken things), CCleaner is well known of causing corrupted files and more problem to the OS, so avoid that as well, third-party programs avoid changing the appearance of the system that also breaks some stuff, changing the background or using things like wallpaper engine are ok.
If your not sure about Linux, or don't know anything about it??
You can always Run Linux Temporarily from a USB Drive
on your Computer, & don't have to Install it at all...
You'll get full access to Linux, but because it's from a USB,
the Operating System will wipe it's self out as if it never
existed, the moment you Eject the USB Drive from your
Computer, or Shut Down Linux on the USB It's Self...
If you want things to permanently Stay??
You'll have to Install Linux onto the Computer from that USB...
Linux is also Free, so you can actually do this with any Version of Linux you want...
Anyone is Welcome to do this...
I don't actually hate Linux, I just don't want to permanently
leave Windows, because I just don't want to be shoved around,
& told what to do, & where to go, I like the Freedom of Choice...
And if I say I don't want to Leave, then by darn, I don't wanna Leave...
& No, I Don't Want To Support Windows 11, Either...
That is not my purpose for staying on Windows at all...
You all can Support whatever ya want??
I just thought i'd offer an idea for you, is all...
Any Registry editing tool (including CCleaner) outside of Regedit itself is also known to wreak havoc.
It is safe to update to Windows 11 assuming your CPU is compatible with the POPCNT instruction set & has TPM 2 support. If it does not support POPCNT you will need a new PC with hardware that supports it.
Do get used to search around like crazy for all the things you knew in WIn10. Most of the stuff have new names or moved to another lace inside a myriad of sub menus.
The far easiest way to upgrade is get a new SSD for system disk and clean install Win11 on that one keeping all the old stuff still connected.
