I do believe the minidump file is tagged with the Windows build number that the crash occurred on. It is tagged with signatures of all loaded modules (i.e. .exe, .sys, .dll, etc.) so it can find the symbols for official Microsoft modules on the Microsoft Symbol Server, to better analyze the stack trace.
EDIT: Just noticed you gave an email to send minidumps to.
That said, to ensure your system is ready to save minidumps, press Windows+R and enter sysdm.cpl
In the "System Properties" control panel go to the Advanced tab and select Settings... under Startup and Recovery. Make sure either Small Memory Dump or Automatic Memory Dump is selected.
Check in the C:\Windows\minidump folder after a system crash (make sure to let the BSOD fully collect data before rebooting).
Thanks. I checked and it already was set to "Automatic Memory Dump". Well, time to install the new driver once again!
