Cannot get Steam Overlay to work with Origin games...
Works fine with battle.net, Epic Launcher, Uplay...
I disabled the Origin overlay but it still won't work.

Running Win 10 x64.

Origin can be a hit and a miss on certain titles, I was previously able to play Need For Speed Most Wanted* on it, with the Steam Controller.

The problem is more with Origin than being a Steam problem.

this is also the case for me... I've been all over the steam controller forums, reddit, and tried so many things myself to get this to work, but nothing helps... Origin games were working one day, then weren't the next. Origin did not update as far as I know, but Steam did, as well as my video card drivers. Windows may have updated, but I'm not sure since windows10 does it in the background without my knowing. I don't know what caused it, but it's super annoying because I can't play these games at all since I'm a Steam Controller HTPC gamer. I'm just 100% out of luck and check for a new steam beta update each day hoping it is fixed. so far, nothing... please let me know if anyone can find a way to get this working.

I'm glad that works for you, but unfortunately it's not working for me. I've tried everything: beta steam, stable steam, beta origin, stable origin, re-enabling and re-disabling origin overlay, running steam as admin, running steam and origin as admin, launching the origin exe through steam then launching the game from there, launching the games from steam directly, adding origin.exe to the 'start in' properties in steam, etc... absolutely nothing has worked. Origin is always exited when I start, and I have it set to exit origin upon a game closing, which it does. I've been going crazy the past week trying to get it to work. I got Titanfall on Origin Access last Tuesday and I've been able to play it Once, the day it released (3/22).

i didnt add the orgin exe to steam only the game exes add the game as nonsteam game on steam click paly on said game in the library it will boot up orgin then it will automaticly start up the game

yup, I said I tried both. "I've tried...launching the origin exe through steam then launching the game from there, launching the games from steam directly..." and by 'launch directly' I meant the exe to the game was added as non-steam game. When booting that non-steam game Origin launches automatically, boots the game automatically, and I get no overlay.

Yeah, really hoping for a solution to this. I won't be buying any more Origin games to play with my Steam Controller until this is fixed.

I posted MY SOLUTION for Win10 in this post here:
