All my games being updated with a 108.8Mb file

It seems to be some sort of error. I had a bunch that showed 0k updates

well 108 x 35 installed games so i will have 3.5GB of dummy files oh damn

Same here. I had both problems, first a 0 kb download for 60 games like an hour ago and now the 100 MB downloads :S

EDIT: I noticed that I won some HDD space. Maybe the 0 kb downloads deleted something by mistake and now it's recovering the data.

I was wondering what all of this was about. Ofcourse the Steam staff never posts any updates on such changes or other issues.

Seems to be something with the "_CommonRedist" folder that's in each game install, it holds the redistributables like DirectX and Frameworks that each game need to install the first time you launch it.
The 0 kb deleted that folder and now the new update is downloading them again. Why? no idea.

well im glad to see some people are going through the same thing. i have 32 games that are being updated.i started freaking out thinking the worst. someone has hacked me. but i restarted my steam and it started again. so i dont know if its something that happens. everytime you restart your steam but it did happen to me.

I had the same problem, but it ended up resulting in some of my games being inaccessible due to a missing decryption key. I reverted to the non-beta client for now.

For me 14 of 35 installed games are being updated. Size is 0kB.

I got Process Monitor to catch what the ♥♥♥♥ Steam is doing

In Fact, Steam redownloads the _CommonRedist folders of all the games you have installed

So it is downloading 30 times DirectX10 and so on, why the big updates to all the games.

Probably a wrong manipulation in the common redist repo shared to all the games
