Unable to turn off PS4 controller

Connected wirelessly I am unable to turn off the controller. Even pressing the home button and then choosing turn off controller. The light stays ON and the controller is still functional.

Anyone able to advise?

Hold controller's home button down until controller turning off, 10 seconds or little bit more, dont remember exactly how long.... It is a controller's built in turn off function.

Current problem with that is that Steam won't recognize the controller has been disconnected. Only way to fix that is to either unplug the bluetooth dongle or restart Steam.

Looks like if you press triangle and the ps button it will turn off the controller as a quick disconnect option.

Look at the date of the last post in this thread. Back then it wasn't working, now it does.
