Can both DS4 and XboxOne controllers be used at the same time?

Now that Steam has native support for Dualshock 4, I just wanted to know if it is possible to use both dualshock 4 controllers and xbox one controllers at the same time on Steam games, like Castle Crashers.

While I have both controllers and I could really try, I can't see why it wouldn't work except with possible player misalignment.

You have to be in Big Picture Mode to use DualShock 4; and Xbox One controller would work like any other Xinput controller.

If all else did fail, then I'd just use an unofficial driver and map the DualShock 4 as a Xinput controller.

Well, I tried anyway. Here's the two controllers (Xbox One wirelessly via the RF dongle, and DualShock 4 via microUSB to USB A): http://imgur.com/0zYvYwC.png

Of the two, I connected the DualShock 4 first.

I tried only Call of Duty: Black Ops III for now, but the experience was very mixed. The Xbox One controller would control the first player (movement and camera), whereas the DualShock 4 controller would control both players with the left stick, and the second player's camera with the right stick.

That's me pressing the R1, L1 / RB, LB buttons to switch the menu tab.

Perhaps it had worked better had I done some tweaking around, or perhaps it works better in other games, but in this one it definitely didn't behave properly.

If a game you're playing works natively with a ps4 controller or works through big picture you can turn of the steam configurations for ps4 controllers making it work without steam controller configurations :)

@Teutep Thanks for testing it out for me! If it isn't too much, can you test it out on other local multiplayer games, like Castle Crashers, Rayman Legends, and Battleblock Theater?

@FridiNaTor When you say "works through big picture," isn't it because of the Steam beta's native support for DS4? If you do turn it off, does it solve the problems Teutep experienced in his COD:BO3 test?

Yes you can. I use ds3 ds4 xbox 360 and steam controller at same time.

No. What I mean is that if you have the DS4 native support on you can go to game and controller options and turn of Steam configrations for PS4 controllers meaning you will use it as a normal DS4 in the game and or and Xinput if the game don't support DS4 but other controllers :)
