i suggest keeping your Task bar constantly open to see when the process goes above 80MB (which is where it starts to hurt your PC).
yup but this should also be fixed so i can listen to music and the radio without it crashing.
sure. I have
Windows 8.1 64 bit a core i7 2 core laptop chip, HD 4400 graphics, 8 GB of ram.
Another friend has experienced the same thing(not sure if the error was exactly the same but i would assume so)
He has amd am3+ 8 core cpu, 12 GB of ram gtx 970, windows 7 64 bit
hope this helps if you need anything else let me know.
I am having the same problem as the others in this thread http://imgur.com/9QedsF1 .Around 3 updates ago steamwebhelper started crashing for me, and just recently it was able to leak up to 1.8GB of memory before it crashed.

Ive reported it 3 months ago, and again and again, and no one cares at VALVE. It's especially a problem if you run Steam as a server for In-Home streaming.
You cant use it properly right now, and you need a VNC running on the server pc, to keep things like that under control. Because the STORE page is always the default one when Steam starts, and this causes the webhelper to leak and use CPU until you manually switch the tab away from the Store, which you just can if you use VNC.
Also if you are using In-Home streaming you cant really deactivate the annoying Overlay, it always keeps activated.
