Steam Client Shows NSO Famicom Controller as "Nintendo Switch Joy-Con (R)"
ISSUE
When I open Steam Client, my Nintendo Switch Online Famicom Controller (Player One) shows on Steam as "Nintendo Switch Joy-Con (R)", and the D-Pad no longer works. When Steam Client is off, the controller functions perfectly, D-Pad and all. Steam doesn't even allow me to manually place the inputs in the controller settings like other controllers.

OS
Windows 10

STEPS
Connect controller to PC via Bluetooth. Connects as "HVC Controller (1)".
Turn on Steam.

RESULTS
Controller shows as "Nintendo Switch Joy-Con (R)", D-Pad doesn't work.

Steam doesn't even allow me to manually place the inputs in the controller settings like other controllers.
Valve seems to have removed this feature and the ability to save layout as any controller type by design as part of adding support for other controller types, Not sure if it is intentional or not so made a feature request instead of bug report. These Steam Input features seem to be missing for all controllers not just currently but for a number of months now.

[Feature Request] Controller Layout Mapping

If only Valve brought back those Steam Input features we could reconfigure Steam Input to make our controllers work like expected again.

No wonder I couldn't edit it. What's worse, when I try to map the layout in individual games, e.g. in the controller settings for Mega Man Legacy Collection, it doesn't even show the D-Pad or the Select Button as options to input, I'm assuming because the Right Joy-Con doesn't have a D-Pad or Select Button.

Hopefully someone notices this, and this can get resolved soon, or at the very least bring back the option to map controllers.

Just wanted to know if there has been any update for this issue? I checked again to see if the issue was resolved with new update, but it still hasn't been resolved. Is there someone or somewhere I can ask to get some help regarding this issue?

Just wanted to let you know that I was able to hide the controller from steam thanks to the link. Now I can at least map the controller to my keyboard. I appreciate your help!

Thats great. All credit to Steam user tintingaroo

Valve should provide a community hub for Steam Input imo
