Steam Hardware Survey incorrectly identifies desktop PC as a laptop when connected to a UPS
ISSUE
The Steam Hardware Survey believes that my desktop machine is a laptop when connected to a UPS system.

OS
Windows 10 (21H1)

STEPS
When prompted, accept the invite to the Steam Hardware Survey while on a computer connected to a UPS (via USB).

RESULTS
The Steam Hardware Survey summary states that the machine is a laptop.

EXPECTED
The Steam Hardware Survey doesn't think that a Windows system with a battery detected is automatically a laptop.

Form Factor is not listed in Steam Hardware & Software stats results. You can use the Help tab at top of large mode client to see System Information to see Form Factor and all other system info as seen by Steam Hardware & Software survey. Cross referencing to results of survey in Store > Stats show Form Factor is irrelative to stats results.

The fact that Valve do not publicly display form factor as part of the results is irrelevant. They are collecting that information as part of the survey, and inaccurately so.

Still happening - possibly because I have a UPS with a USB connection to monitor it?

This looks like what's causing it. Since getting a UPS and connecting it to USB to monitor it, there's been all sorts of weird behavior from windows and other software thinking my PC is a laptop. The incorrect Steam hardware survey is one thing but the 23.12.1 Radeon drivers automatically throw my 6950XT into HYPR-RX Eco mode upon any game launch because it thinks I'm running on battery. Best solution I've found so far is to disconnect my UPS from USB and trust I hear the alarm early enough to shut my system down in case the power goes out. Guess UPSes aren't common enough for devs to account for these cases...
