Bug with activity status
In the Steam client in the upper right corner where the avatar, wallet balance and activity status are, my avatar is frozen and does not change to the current one and also the activity status is not displayed there, also when I click on the steam icon in the tray, I always have a check mark on the status "Offline" and whichever one I change the other one, it does not change while going to the profile I am always online, i.e. the status in the tray is completely frozen on "Offline", but at the same time I am online. In addition, if you go to BigPicture and go to the profile, it says that I am not online and the avatar is also not relevant, but the one that was at the time of the appearance of this bug. I wrote to Steam support, but could not solve the problem. Steam was reinstalled, switched to beta mode and back, all steam ports are open, steam is everywhere with exceptions, there are no problems with the Internet. I went to my friend's acc on my computer and everything is displayed fine, after logging into my acc, the problem returns. Maybe someone has faced such a problem?

I'm guessing a config file was bugged and letting Steam redownloading everything just fixes it.

I have that exact issue as well, been happening for a few weeks for me.
Tried opting out of beta and same thing so it's not beta related, tried looking for someone having that issue as well without any luck until you.

Let's hope that there is someone who will solve this problem or the developers will release an update that will solve our problem.

I hope that in the near future the developers will find the reason for this problem, as a last resort, if more people have this problem, they will eventually have to find and fix its causes

I have the same problem. It has something to do with beta testing and Steam Family.
It's already really annoying, I've had it for over two weeks and a person in another discussion has had this problem for over !TWO! months.

How to restore screenshots? They are stored by default in userdata folder and if you delete it screenshots will be lost.

It looks like screenshots are saved in userdata\id\760\ folder, so making a backup of that folder and putting it back in the newly created userdata should be enough.
Or try to figure out which file is messing up, likely to be userdata\id\config\, I'd try deleting only that folder and see if it works.
