Dynamic collections friend's filter not working
ISSUE
Dynamic collections based on "Games owned by [user] and [user's friend] does not produce a list of shared games, regardless of the visibility of either users game collection.

OS
Windows 10

STEPS
Select Friends from the top menu bar
Select View Friends List
Select a friend, view their profile
View the friends game library and confirm there are at least one game in common with your library.

Select LIBRARY from the main menu
Click on the "filter" button
Enter friend's username in the "friends" field, select said friend when displayed
Select "Save as dynamic collection"
Collection will display as empty, as though neither player owns any similar games

EXPECTED
The Dynamic Collection should contain a list of every shared game, further filterable by other tags (such as "Multiplayer").

### EDIT: FIX FOUND ###
Thanks to @Zerdath for finding this: entering Big Picture mode (and subsequently exiting out) seems to fix this issue. Not sure if its due to steamOS having a higher bug priority/assumed default usage, or what, but give that a shot, y'all, and be sure to send some thanks Zerdath's way!

Hey everyone on this thread, my friend and I were both able to fix the issue by just going into Big Picture mode and then back out of it. For me it just started working, for him he had to cycle a checkmark in any of the collections.

Did you get a fix for this? It is happening for me as well. Temporarily fixed by "clear download cache" but lost again next session.
Same here.
Bumping for solution

same issue

Having the same issue. First time I noticed the issue I cleared download cache and restarted steam client. I was able to then see old dynamic collections and create new collections that were showing the expected filtered list of games between friends. Next time I restarted steam the dynamic collections function broke again and all my collections are gone. Creating new collections doesn't populate any games when using steam friends as a filter.
OS = Win 10, on latest stable version release.

Identical issue here - works for some friends but not others. Verified all friends (even those with issues) did not have private games or profiles.

Same same.
same here, been an issue for at least two weeks.
Quick question:

Does it have any use posting here and they will actually do something about this or we just collectively struggle together in sympathy?

I am fine with either, just asking...

having the same issue
it used to work when i initially created the collection a few months ago, but i noticed it disappeared from my library on the left hand side of the screen, but its still visible in the "Collections View" shelf albeit having 0 games in it
the collection only has games if i remove the friend filter
Still have no solution for this?

same here
Same issue, although mine are not empty, just missing many of the shared games.

To my understanding:
If yourself or 1 other person (other then the filtered user) own it, and the person in the filter owns it, it shows up in the filtered users collection.

I assume the filter does a check of:
All games owned by {filteredUser} including games in your family group (minus the games shared by {filteredUser}).

Not sure why its like this? I'm sure there is a deeper reason for why its this way but its annoying as sometimes I like to know who the shared game came from.
