Can't link my YouTube account anymore?
Hello all,

For the past few days, I've noticed that I can no longer link my YouTube account to add videos to my content page. This has never worked through the Steam app, or at least not the past 7 or 8 years. I've always needed to go through the Steam website using a web browser like Chrome, etc. I primarily use Chrome. But I've noticed that since the beginning of April, I can no longer link my account.

My process for linking has always been to go to the main Steam website.

1) I go to store.steampowered.com
2) Hover the mouse over my profile name at the top to get the dropdown menu (this is where it says Store, Community, Username, Chat, Support)
3) Scroll down to 'Content' and click
4) Click the 'Videos' tab
5) Click Link YouTube Account
6) on the next screen, there is a green button labeled 'Access your YouTube Videos', which I click
7) That takes me to the accounts.google.com site where I am asked to click on the profile I want to link, and so I click the appropriate account.

But once I click the chosen account, I get an error message that reads:

This page isn’t working
steamcommunity.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

Again, this just began happening in the past few days. Maybe a week at most? I thought maybe Steam was having issues, or maybe even YouTube, but now I'm unable to link my videos to share them in the Steam community. If anyone knows of a way to solve this issue, please let me know.

Thanks!

This issue started happening around March 30th, and it's clear that the problem is widespread, as videos of all the most popular games have been removed since that date.

Same here, and I tried Chrome and Firefox. It is just a hypothesis, but I suppose it has to do with a change at Google/Youtube: because it has now also become more cumbersome for me to select my previous Youtube channel in the browser itself. Previously I just had to open a bookmark in my browser and I was in my own YT gaming channel/account (which is a brand account), i.e. with all my own videos, my view history, my editor etc.. But now my old bookmark opens Youtube with an account that I don't use, i.e. the one with my real name that I used to officially register with Google, and thus a Youtube account that contains no view history, no videos etc., but is the source account from which you create the brand accounts. So now I have to click on my source account first and then select my brand account. Could it be that Steam now also has the problem that there is no longer direct access to my brand account?

Ditto. Tried it for the first time a few minutes ago and I'm getting the same error when using the web browser.

Same here, I tried all the fixes I have found online. Different browsers, cleared cache, unlinking/relinking accounts, and disabling ad blockers but nothing worked. Will keep searching

There's another large thread discussing this as well: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/4299321840545199406/?tscn=1712229421

steamcommunity.com is currently unable to handle this request.

Until then, the current trick right now is to use a real browser AND try it at exactly 12AM Pacific Time. Any other time will result in an HTTP 500 ERROR or a blank page.

And this is coming soon-ish to Steam...
