[SOLVED] Steam Helper 100% and blank screen - Mac

ISSUE
I get a blank screen when I start Steam where the web content is meant to be (so I can see menus but all the content in the embedded browser is blank). Also the Steam Helper is running at 100%

OS
MAC 10.15.4

System
Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017)
4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Radeon Pro 580 8 GB

STEPS

Reboot Mac
Start steam - steam starts correctly and I can see the embedded web content and steam helper is working correctly
Play game
Close steam
Reopen steam

RESULTS
The steam app opens but the screen is blank (no embedded content) and the steam helper is now running at 100% and never stops. I can still play games (although with one less core operating) and if I go into big screen mode or small mode I can see my library.

If I reboot the Mac steam will once again work.


EXPECTED
The content should be displayed and not blank.
Steam Helper should not run at 100%
Should not need to reboot Mac every time I want to load steam

Update - 4th July.

SOLVED IT!! It was Norton Security.

After a lot of messing around in safe mode and reinstalling different components I tracked this down to be something to do with Norton Security on Mac. I did a full uninstall and reinstall of norton and the issue seems to have disappeared.
