FPS counter not working in MacOS Sonoma
ISSUE
The FPS counter does not show up when enabled on MacOS Sonoma

OS
MacOS Sonoma 14.1.1

STEPS
    Enable the Steam Overlay in Preferences->In GameEnable the FPS counter by selecting a location from the In-game FPS counter popup menu in Preferences->In GameRun game

RESULTS
No FPS counter displayed

EXPECTED
FPS counter displayed

This still happens in macOS 14.3 and Steam version 1706390103

ive also got this and would also like to know if there will be an update or anything. i have tried several things that i thought would have caused an issue. I believe that it could be caused by apples new "game mode" because it prioritises the game and nothing else like background tasks. The game mode might think that the steam overlay is a background task and as a result wont let it show up to save resources. however i do not know so dont believe 100% of what i say.

I just discovered that Steam fps counter works now in Sonoma with both Metal and OpenGL games.
