Can't join chat rooms / group chats in Steam Client

ISSUE
In the Steam Client, I can't join any group chats. Nothing happens if I click on the "Enter chat room" button on any group page .

Happens both on beta version 1699054352 and stable release 1698777785, not sure about mobile versions. Works fine in browser. I think it happens (not sure) since the UI overhaul and more people are having this issue. Restarting or clearing cache didn't help either.

STEPS
Open any Steam group page in the client
Click on "Enter chat room" button

RESULTS
Nothing happens.

If i made a right clic on a chat group fav, contact list is opening this:

I can enter group chats now. Using Google Chrome pressing "enter chat now" and Steam will open a new chat window.

I'm using Steam stable client and can't join group chats. Clicking "Enter chat room" in a web browser does work!
