Unable to close Steam window

ISSUE
Can't close steam window by clicking the close button or right click on taskbar.

OS
Windows 11 22621.1635

STEPS
Click close window button on the top of the window
Click close window button on taskbar menu
Sometimes nothing will happen

EXPECTED
The window should be closed

but i cant close steam windows when it open at start PC
if i exit from steam and open it all working(((

Yep i get the same problems with the new steam browser.

Edit: Closing with task manager makes the app close for a bit, but then it reopens by itself

I have discovered a fix, if you launch a game and then close the game it then gives you the ability to close the steam client. Weird bug.

I have solved this problem, by exiting family view with the button on the top right and entering your pin. Maybe this helps.

(Of course, this only works if you have it activated.)

Here's a fix for all of ya:

Go to your icons or hidden icons (depends on your pc), right-click on steam, exit steam and restart it again.

on 10 , I solved this problem by closing the application through the task manager .
Question Did you have any problems that the drop-down menus didn't work?

The close button and the menubar dropdown does not work after autostart (win11). After manual Steam restart it works.

Same problem. (Win 10) Also can not access the very top menu (Steam, View, Friends, Games, Help).

I've discovered if I launch a game, then close it I can then access the menu and Min/Max & X icons on the right as well.

I had the same issue, it seemed to be fixed after going into then closing big picture mode.

Absolutely agree that we need the Start Minimized setting back.
