BUG: "Remember me" checkbox in the "Sign in" UI persistently ticked
Issue: every time a steam "Sign in" UI is opened by running "steam.exe", "Remember me" checkbox is ticked, even if unticked on a previous login.

OS: Windows 10

Steps:
1. Run "steam.exe".
2. Observe that "Remember me" checkbox is ticked in the login form.
3. Untick the checkbox.
4. Sign in using your login and password.
5. Exit steam client.
6. Run "steam.exe" again.

Result:
"Remember me" checkbox is ticked.

Expected behavior:
"Remember me" checkbox should remain unticked, since it was explicitly unticked by user during a prior login.

Comments:

This issue was introduced in the October Steam client update and was not present in the old client version. Previously, one workaround was possible by using "-noreactlogin" to access old Sign in UI instead. However, it's no longer an option since the command was deprecated.

I have the same bug.
I read the text for the very latest UI patch which lead me to believe the UI would remember the user choice (not to remember me on my computer)
I believe this is the safest option in case of computer theft (leaving no trace of user name and password in the ''Sign in'' UI).

The checkbox being defaulted to checked is not a bug. It was a design choice.

Do you have any official confirmation of that? Because this design choice is very annoying by itself, and contradicts the old functionality when considered as part of the larger picture. So it baffles me that any developer in their right mind would make such a choice.
