Full Pc lags since update

Seems I'm not the only one laggin cuz of steam. I had to wait for letters in this post to appear... Steam fix your stuff plz!

Are you downloading anything on steam, if so stop downloads and see if lag continues to be there.

It is strange.. it stops responding when u start working with it then it looses up and u can work a bit with it but it is awfully bad responsiveness in it.. and on task manager it barely uses any resources.

Unsubscribe , turn off ̶B̶e̶t̶a̶ (Alpha) updates options in settings.

Steam was constantly updateing/downloading sth i could not see and pause. Unsubbed Beta update and everything works perfect as No Prof said. Seems going offline also helps but who wants to play offline...

I managed to pause my download and everything works now except dota cause that is on my download list :P

I also have Dota but could not see any downloads beside tf2update which i managed to get at last. Anyway Beta update is yet to be fixed and let's hoope it happens soon.

Same for me. Typing this message made me cry for the anger. Too much lag. I used to play games with max graphs anf hve at least 100 fps, now I get 5-10 with minimum graphics.STEAM STAPH. Dota 2 is bugged as it keeps downloading a inexisting 0 bytes update. GG Steam.

I had the same problem, along with some Steam games slowing down, and the whole client being slow (Took it FIFTEEN minutes to register a click). It didn't make a difference to my PC, since I have a fairly good one, but many games (namely Child of Light and Source, I think) were either lagging or running slowly.

I had to re install steam to fix it (By deleting everything except Steam.exe, Userdata and Steam apps). But it seems to work perfectly now. You will, however need to re install previous Steam skins and so on and so forth.

I also have this issue. It seems to coincide with an undownloadable Dota 2 update which is 0 bytes in size. It tries to download, fails then tried again, causing lag with each attempt. I know many others in the Dota 2 steam forums are having this issue also so they may be linked.
