Steam doesn't recognise my HORI controler

I recently bought a game where I need to have a controller, so I wanted to connect my switch Pro controller, alias the HORI Wireless Switch Pad, but Steam was not able to detect it, but my pc did. First I thought, since it is a third party switch controller steam might not detect it, but my controller is on the list of the supported controller (https://support.steampowered.com/kb/5199-TOKV-4426/supported-controller-database?l=german). Can anyone help?

This device works over BT but not over USB. Are you connecting via BT? There seems to be some kind of FW issue in the device over USB because it enumerates to windows but doesn't send any input. If you run joy.cpl you will see that none of the buttons do anything over USB.

Do you have Nintendo Switch configuration enabled under controller settings? What is the exact model number of the device you are using? The one I am testing with is NSW-174

I can't get the hori steam controller to even be on the Bluetooth search list

Can you try checking the box to show all BT devices? There was an issue in SteamOS that caused some gamepads to be filtered out. I'm not sure how far along that change is to being in the stable version yet.
