Ignore Button Does Nothing
I've hit the ignore button on electronic arts' developer page, but the steam storefront is still persistently showing me electronic arts titles. Likewise for cd project titles.

https://store.steampowered.com/developer/EA/

So either your feature isn't functioning or you're allowing certain publishers to bypass users' preferences, at which point I have to wonder why you even allow the option if high roller clients get to ignore it.

For the other areas of the store, I found the old blog post Tito quoted saying why...

Q: Sometimes I see blurred out games on my Store front page. Why is that?

A: There are a number of sections on the front page that we fill with games, and to ensure the servers behind it don't melt down as everyone tries to use it, we do a lot of data caching. This works great for data sets that we can easily pre-compute - so if there's a game you shouldn't see due to your mature content filters, you'll never see it on the front page. But if you've chosen to do some more personal filtering of particular developers, or specific games, we can't do that pre-computation as easily. As a result, it's possible you'll see a blurred out game on the front page because your personal filters should cause it to be hidden. In practice, though, this will only happen if you've filtered out so many games that it can't find enough to fill a section of the front page, and again, like the search results, we'll blur that game out and tell you why.

Thank you for the reply, but I'm not sure what that has to do with my post. It would if I'm ignoring the majority of publishers on here, but I'm only ignoring 3-4 out of dozens. There is more than enough content to populate the front page, yet it's still showing me new EA releases/promotions. Just now I opened the store page and there was a giant banner inviting me to preorder madden 2021 or whatever the heck it's called.

I.e. the publisher ignore feature is not functioning.

Banners are not a part of the ignore function.

They should be. They're publisher-affiliated promotional material I would expect to be included in the ignore function.

Edit: Ignoring the madden title in question on its store page removes the banner and replaces it with a Klei promotional one. Ignoring EA and anything they publish/develop should have covered that.

The ignore button continues to do nothing as of the latest steam client update. I've just had to manually go through and ignore 4-5 or however many old republic store items to scrub the EA filth from my front page.

They should've never appeared there in the first place, not if the publisher level ignore button worked as expected and advertised.

Yes, I still have electronic farts as an ignored publisher. No, the ignore publisher function still does nothing.

Related bug: ignoring the "ea play" item manually does not remove the "ea play" promo banner from my store page. Not only should either of those items NOT be getting shown to me if I've chosen to ignore ea on the publisher level, but the banner should not be getting shown if I've manually selected ignore on the item it is promoting.

I go on the store page and I get shown Crysis 3. Who is the publisher of Crysis 3? That's right, electronic arts, the same electronic arts I've ignored at the publisher level. Why are these features even in the client if they don't work?

Ignored publisher items are also showing up under steam news. You know what a customer does when you repeatedly ignore their advertisement preferences? They stop looking at your advertisements.

Also individual ignored games used to be blurred/greyed out now they seem to not even do that - since maybe a month or two ago ... regression bug?

Noticed this aswell, but only this week I've seen some games on the front page marked as "Wishlisted" and "Ignored" properly. For around 2 days or so the wishlisted\ignored games on the front page just show up without any marks. I have 10 pages worth of games set to "Ignore", yet in the account details it shows that I have 0 titles marked as "Ignored".

I'm convinced valve's just plain trolling at this point. Have you ignored a publisher? That must mean you want to see MORE of their products.

Try "Clearing download cache" is Settings -> Downloads. Helped me to fix it, both ignored publishers and products don't show up anymore

I'll give that a try and report back. Thanks!

This did not fix it as it turned out, because what do I see when I navigate to my store page just now but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fifa by none other than everyone's favourite publisher plastering my storefront. Not only is it obscuring other titles I might actually be interested in, but it's wasting my time having to ignore it manually.

Sure would be nice if steam features actually worked.

Ignoring electronic farts (I like that one. Well, the name, not what it stands for) still does nothing. Steam is not going to change that ever, are they?
