Push-to-talk and push-to-mute button assignments disappear
ISSUE
Push-to-talk assign button and the push-to-mute assignments in both stable and beta versions of the Steam client.

OS
Windows 10 latest

STEPS
Open Friends and Chat
Click on settings, the gear at the top right
Click on Voice settings
Click on push to talk settings
Assign a hotkey. In this instance, I used M5, a macro key on my keyboard.

RESULTS
Push-to-talk and push-to-mute key assignments (the icon, pictures, or buttons) disappear. All you're left with is "Push-to-talk hotkey assigned as" with no visual indicators. Below that is "Play a short sound on microphone toggle" with a toggle switch that is currently on. No other buttons, indicators, or anything else present in this section of the settings.

Additionally, Open Microphone settings has "Mute toggle hotkey assigned as" with a button with an X on the far right, while that text is centered. Clicking it gives the user back a "None" button to use in Push-to-Talk, Push-to-Mute, and Open Microphone settings.

When testing, it also might be a good idea to try assigning keys while currently in a chat session and while remote playing something like Cuphead.

EXPECTED
A button that shows the current key assigned, and when clicked, asks the user for a new button to assign to the function.

I just have the same issue, I got a Logitech headset G930 and I just got the same issue about 10mins ago. As you know Rust just wiped... for the new update.

WTF is steam developers thinking about? FIX THIS For God's Sake.

Have you been able to find a fix for this? I'm having the same issue and my friend cannot hear me in game or in a chat

I can't remember what I did, but it involved making settings default. I dunno if I reverted Steam to default settings, my microphone, or Discord or something. Sorry, forgot. what I did.
It got fixed by it self later on.
I recommend restarting the computer.
And maybe redownload steam AND if the issue persist give it time, like a day or so.

That's all I can remember.
