PS4 Controller Crashes/Freezes Steam Bootstrapper. Started With Steam Client Update Today

Steam Client is crashing/freezing because of ps4 controllers being turned on. I tried reinstalling drivers, reinstalling steam client, reinstalling steam files, restarting computer, booting in safe mode, altering device manager drivers and updating them, removing steam beta, redownloading files to run steam beta.... and nothing will make my controllers run without either freezing Steam Bootstrapper or crashing at Steam startup screen loading my account.
Wow. 200 games and can't play any now because I have all my controller configs linked with my
ps4 controllers. Nice.
Hope its fixed soon.

happening to me right now. steam crashes every time i tried to plug ps4 controller in. hope they will fix it soon...

Post #5 in this thread solved this for me... I went back to Steam Client Stable... Just make sure you don't delete steam apps folder and steam.exe..I had to do this just to have access to my games... without having to reinstall them or redownload them..

I dont think you "solved" this at all.

If you went back to steam stable then you dont have ds4 support so... how is it solved.

You much more easily could have "solved" it by unplugging your controller, at which point you would have been in exactly the same position.

i have the same problem. Steam crashed when ps4 controller is conected :(

um yeah. Its not solved. Solved would be able to play all of my game collection with my ps4 controllers again.

I had to revert to stable just use steam after I did that..Now my games are back at least...And I forgot to mention It was a Steam controller I had the problems with so..In some ways I understand You guys want your controller ..But you may want to have access to your games..If you try what I did..You won't have your controller back..But you will have Steam and your Games back for now... Untill they get this bug fixed..Hopefully soon...

Same thing here, I just reverted back to the stable version for now until Valve fixes this.

I'm having the same issue. PS4 controller is pairing with steam link over bluetooth, however steam crashes during big picture boot screen. Is there a fix for this already? It seams like this is a very old issue, though I can't find a fix anywhere. System: Arch linux, everything is up to date, ethernet connection. Tried beta on both steam and steam link - no good

with this i got my issuse solved conected my ps4 contrroller to pc through bluetooth and works perfectly havent found issuse yet playing steam games
