YouTube Full Screen has a white border
Might be intended, but I don't think so:

especially the small blue box at the top right

I have the same issue.
Djfe Dec 1, 2017 @ 11:10pm
Sure, if you think that helps:
ISSUE
Watching YouTube videos in the included browser in full screen mode gives me a border around the video container.

OS
Win 10 education edition 64bit
Steam Packet Version: 1512171791

STEPS
I open http://store.steampowered.com/news/externalpost/rps/2152021858897087076
Click on the YouTube Video at the bottom on the article.
Click on the button for full screen mode.

RESULTS
It looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/5043OFU.jpg

EXPECTED
Full screen mode should be shown like in other browsers, like with the included video player for videos on shop pages:
without a distracting border and without a small blue box at the top right.
:ZAT_Correct:Confirmed

Effects/affects
  1. Store video's, Community video's and Broadcasts.

  2. In Steam Client Beta and in the Overlay (i did not test Big Picture nor Small Modus) running the Steam Client Beta program
    • In the Overlay this does not happen to me with Store video's nor with Broadcasts, only with Community vids.
    • When requesting FullScreen video, size of the video's in affected secondairy and tertiairy Steam windows remains proportional to how much enlarged the window was before requesting Fullscreen. The rest of the page is white.
  3. Does not happen at all running the Steam Client Enduser version.

Troubleshooting Steps taken
  1. Tested in all stages with
    • Video here and in "this is weird", another recent thread on this Bug Reports forum;
    • Tested with a variaty of video's from Steam Community pages and from forums of privately owned groups;
    • Tested with Store Video's;
    • Tested with Broadcasts.

  2. Updating the Steam Client Beta from Package versions: 1512106138 to Package versions: 1512171791 did not clear the issue.
  3. Clearing Steam Cookies and Browser Cache did not clear the issue.
  4. Cleaning computer with CCleaner (Steam included although Steam Cookies are exempt) (Freeware edition) did not clear the issue.
  5. Updating NVIDA Drivers from version 388.13 to 388.43 (clean install) did not clear the issue.

My Desktop
Windows 10 Home (x64) Fall Creators ed., v 1709 build 16299.19

NVIDIA Geforce GT 740 (new)
Driver version 388.43

Soooooo all i did was opt out of beta and let it do its uninstall update then i restarted steam and well now its working fine for me with "All Steam Videos" in true Fullscreen again. Must be a Beta Update Issue atm. although not sure if you all who are having issue are on beta program.

But my issue is gone now.
Good luck all

I think so because im hearing alot of other OS verison users not having this issue so must be WIN 10 issue mainly

same issue here running on W10

A fix I found is to go to your Steam folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) and move or delete every file EXCEPT these: steamapps, userdata and Steam.exe. Keep these files!

Launch Steam.exe after the other files have been moved or deleted and the Steam client will reinstall itself back to where you left off, with the exception of having to re-tick the Family Library Sharing option again in the Settings (if you had it enabled). You will also need to log in again and authorize.

The bug may have something to do with the Steam client's SDL libraries and has been an ongoing issue for some people for a few years now.

that's rather a workaround
I would like to see this fixed
And I won't try something that harsh unless I'm reinstalling anyways, especially since the issue is kinda minor

Btw. my screen resolution: 2560x1440

The solution from PiXL didn't work for me. I deleted everything except the UserData folder (Games are on Ddrive) as i don't want to lose screenshots i did not yet sort&simplify for upload.

Note, did PiXL re-enter the Beta program? The procedure described installs the Release Client, we already established the problem doesn't exist there for most ppl who post about it now. While PiXL does mention re-authorizing the computer for Family Share.
