Report a translation problem
Nope not dismissing it at all, I'm pressing the "Submit" button every time and the "Xbox controller support" box is indeed ticked/selected.
Looking at the changelog, I'm not sure what did it.
Maybe "Fixed a bug where configurations wouldn’t be saved if controller identity couldn’t be established properly" is related?
Though it certainly didn't seem like saving configs was a problem (considering there were 20+ configs in my cloud apparently), it makes logical sense that if a controller identity isn't established properly, Steam would treat it as a new controller and present the registration popup.
Is this just how all xbox one controllers are, or is mine special?
