ERROR : Graphic::Startup() FAILED. No Graphic Memory
Have been trying to fix this error for almost a week now but no fix on any forums or discussion boards have worked. It seems to be a problem with the GPU as I have removed the GPU from my system and successfully booted up the game on my iGPU. All other games work fine with my PC but it seems that Nier:Automata is the only game I can't get to start.

Specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7500 CPU @ 3.40GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB
8GB Ram
Windows 10 x64 bit

Logs:

dinput8.log: https://pastebin.com/QGFfsmjT
dxgi_budget.log: https://pastebin.com/cuA2fVjZ
modules.log: https://pastebin.com/jqdV68Ep

Attempted Fixes:

  • Changing d3d9.dll in windows
  • Running as administrator
  • Updating Nvidia drivers and Intel drivers
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling NieR (as well as doing a complete clean reinstall)
  • Setting GPU to overclock and setting to default clock speed
  • Forcing NieR to use the Nvidia card through Nvidia control panel
  • Running NieR through GeForce Experience
  • Closing all other applications before starting up NieR
  • Changing power management to 'maximum performance'
  • Removing the Nvidia video card from the PC and starting up NieR through the iGPU (This solved the issue but the game runs with around 300 mb of memory which is unplayable for this game or almost any game)

Does it not work when you're running without FAR installed? Because if so, then it's an underlying issue with the game itself that isn't caused by FAR, which limits the help you can get quite a lot.

That error message "Graphic::Startup() FAILED. No Graphic Memory" is a generic error message that the game throws when no other specific error message can be shown. It have nothing to do with VRAM and might be caused by any random thing. Which basically makes it impossible to troubleshoot >_<

Yeah the problem is there even without FAR installed but I thought I would at least ask for a possible fix. Thank you for the reply though

If you've found a way to fix it I'd be glad to hear it

I gave up trying to fix the problem but I felt like trying to run it after a few months and it magically worked. Turns out that the issue was my windows not being genuine because at the time of posting this I had moved my harddrive to my new computer.

I got a new windows key and redownloaded windows on my new computer which consequently fixed the issue. If you don't have genuine windows I recommend doing the same but if you do then I can not help sadly.

Best of luck on getting it to work and if you have anymore questions go ahead and ask!
