Kaldaien is it possible to force a language using a mod, skipping the language set in steam?
Hello, I'll explain, I know that you know a lot about mods because thanks to you I can play Final Fantasy X and Nier Automata without problems. the case is the following, the game called Child of Light, has 8 languages, but within its files, it contains a language number 9, "latamspanish" Spanish from Latin America, and the game contains the language, but steam does not allow me to use it, I bought the game because I'm also a programmer, and I know that behind every program or game, there are families or people who tried hard to do it, and to prove my theory I downloaded an illegal version of the game, (as I told you, I have the game in my steam library), the case is that in the steam_api.ini file of the illegal versions, in language you can write "language = latamspanish" and it will run in Latin American Spanish, and I spoke 2 times in the ubisoft chat if there was a parameter to force the language, for example in allan wake to force the Latin American Spanish language, it was written "locale = esm", but here there is nothing, and ubisoft does not want to fix the problem, being that it is so simple to add a command to the launcher of the game, for so I wanted to know if you could help me how to force the language that is inside the game "latamspanish" without having to play a pirate version, because that's what I'm looking for, playing the steam version. what I tried so far is to unpack the files, I replaced the localization of spanish by the english. and with that I got the dialogues translated into Latin Spanish, but the audio, still in Spanish, then I looked for the videos, I played them with media player classic, and I realized that they have 10 audio tracks, and the last one is the which is in Latin Spanish. summarizing the problem should be solved in two ways, to force the audio into Latin Spanish, which is in the audio tracks within the videos, or to intercept the steam_api.dll so that the game executes it with the "latamspanish" parameter. .. any advice would be well received, I even tried to test with cheat engine to see if I could detect what was the address of the ram that loaded the language, but I did not find it at the end.

You'll have to forgive me as I am not knowledgeable in the dialects of Spanish and what they're called, but I count 9 available options in the properties of my copy? https://i.imgur.com/i7bzwP6.png

Is there a tenth option?

Eh, never mind. Figured it out.

1. Exit Steam.

2. Open Steam\steamapps\appmanifest_256290.acf

3. Change the language to "latamspanish":

"UserConfig" { "language" "latamspanish" }

4. Start Steam and launch the game. It will now run in the Latin Spanish localization.

it does not work, whenever I change to "latamspanish", when opening the game, the configuration is changed again ... any way to fix that?

It works, I skipped the step of closing steam first.

Well, as you noticed I didn’t include that step for no reason at all. :csdsmile:
