Unpacking Skyrim bsa files
Hi, I need a good, easy way to unpack bsa files in Skyrim so I create custom stuff, like outfits and textures. Read all sorts of stuff. 1) I don't understand why you need the Mod Manager from another game (like Fallout) to unpack Skyrim files. I got the FOMM for Fallout 3, but it refuses to run b/c I don't have Fallout, and don't want to get it. I read you have to create "dummy files" to trick FOMM into thinking you have the game, but doing that did not work for me. PLEASE, there's got to be a more sensible solution! Please, any help and tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have to use the Fallout tool because nobody created skyrim tool for it since release, but the old Fallout tool is working for Skyrim as they used the same kind of archives.

for it to work , you need a small trick ...
in your skyrim forlder, copy the TESV.exe file and rename the copy to falloutnv.exe ... then you may tell FOMM to look at that file for fallout and it will stop bothering you.
