But why? If a review violates something, it's deleted upon report. And on gaming forums, you can get banned for a smiley face or an innocuous question. As far as I understand, they (the developers) want to personally delete any and any reviews. That's why these questions are constantly being raised. This can't be allowed.
Also, generalization is the go-to tool for half-truths and misinformation spreading, sometimes if used properly, you can completely invalidate valid critique. If person says X, he is automatically also agreeing and supporting Y! Doesn't matter if I know or not if his support of Y is true, all that matters is I say it's true, based on my logic. That's how I was placed in the extreme left camp by the extreme right bc I didn't ♥♥♥♥ on Dustborn in the forum and instead said I support this type of stuff, since I'm not a fan of old popular IPs being injected with out of place social commentary or modern day political topics.
So, online, you can either be with me, or you're my enemy. God I love Episode 3 lol
Hate is just the easiest emotion to evoke in people, it's used so effortlessly to control actions, narratives, and so on. The US vs THEM mentality is the biggest scourge humanity has ever created, because it instills a xenophobic outlook on life into many, who just eat up the "They hate you" slop fed to them by people in power or having certain credentials that somehow make their words more rational.
In reality, the people saying the most hateful things and acting out on their radicalization are also the ones who cry the most about censorship, which of course. They're the ones breaking all the rules and completely ignoring any semblance of decorum. But somehow they're the victims, not the people they're actually victimizing.
The problem is when some of those reactionary nutcases send their pathetic little armies to flood the forums, manipulate the review system, in some cases personally harass both devs and players.
That's a big difference - informing about games vs. hate campaigns that try to discourage devs from making a certain kind of games and players from openly supporting such games.
